Squash Tourament 2010
Men’s B Tournament
Ron v Paul – As part of this seasons Division 4 winning squad, both players were now about to go head to head to see who would be crowned the ‘Mens B Tournament Winner 2010’. Not knowing whether Paul would be facing a ‘Ron’ whose shots were all just above the tin and hit at 200mph or a ‘Ron’ whose shots all went down under no pressure whatsoever, Paul set to work on trying to win the match. With a mixture of tight competitive rallies throughout, which put both players under pressure and unfortunately a string of unforced errors, mainly from Ron, this made for an enthralling encounter to watch. As a result Paul went on to win the match. Congratulations to Paul on his well fought 3-0 victory and better luck next year to Ron, whose rockets just weren’t firing on the day.
Final scores 15-17, 8-15 & 10-15.
Men’s B Plate Tournament
Glyn v Ray – With Glyn’s lack of court time and Ray looking like he was on deaths door, this was never going to be a classic. Despite this, both players managed to entertain the spectators with numerous short sharp rallies which consisted of some nice shot play. Unfortunately as quickly as the match started, it was also finished. As a result Ray won the match 3-0. Under the circumstances both players tried to play their best squash and in the end congratulations go to Ray who won it 3-0.
Final scores 4-15, 1-15 & 8-15.
Men’s A Tournament
Pat v Phil – With Pat the clear favourite to win this one, Phil was always going to have his work cut out. With all three games being competitive, full of quality shots and rallies, neither player was going to go down without a fight. Both were forcing errors out of each other, with Phil trying to draw Pat into long rallies and Pat trying to kill the ball at every opportunity with his power play. As a result of a keenly contested match, Pat won it 3-0. Congratulations to Pat on his battling 3-0 victory and better luck next year to Phil, who gave it his all on the day but it just wasn’t enough.
Final scores 15-8, 16-14 & 15-11.
Men’s A Plate Tournament
Mike G v Mick L – With Mike G yet another player part of this seasons Division 4 winning squad, coming up against Mick L who is another team player from the past, this had the makings of a fantastic match. With both players having similar styles and roughly the same levels of fitness, the rallies were long and gruelling with very little margin for error. However after four very competitive games, the spoils finally went to Mike G who won the match 3-1. Congratulations to Mick G on his sterling 3-1 victory and better luck next year to Mick, who despite giving a good account of himself ran out of steam towards the end.
Final scores 10-15, 15-12, 15-13 & 15-12.
Junior & Elite Plate Tournament
Nathan v Louis – With both the Junior Final and the Men’s Elite Plate Final being played out by the same two 2nd team players, this had all the makings of a mouth watering match. With quality rallies that seemed to go on forever and both players using their endless energy to cover every inch of the court over and over again, the spectators were absolutely glued to this match. However after three hard fought games, first past the winning post was Nathan who won the match 3-0. Congratulations to Nathan on a well deserved 3-0 victory and better luck next year to Louis, who despite displaying some fantastic squash, just didn’t have that little bit extra on the day when it counted.

Men’s Elite Tournament
Nick v Steve – With all eyes now on the big one, Nick and Steve battled it out in four intensive games to see who would be crowned the ‘Men’s Elite Tournament Winner 2010’. Throughout the match both players demonstrated examples of quality ultra competitive rallies, shot play, ball control, fitness and the ultimate will and desire to win. As a result Steve came out on top and won the match 3-1. Congratulations to Steve on a hard fought 3-1 victory and better luck next year to Nick, who despite displaying some awesome squash, just lacked that extra bit of energy at the vital time.
